Mother at the centre of the missing baby saga in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, is threatening to take nurses and midwives at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) to the 'African court' for lying to the Nurses and Midwives Council.
Suwaiba Abdul Mumin told Luv News that the nurses and midwives, who appeared before the Council’s Committee sitting on the case, lied.
"I want the body of my child. whatever they have done with the body, they will walk up to this place bare-footed".
"I realized they don't believe in the Bible they sworn by, so wherever I will take them, I will do. Especially, all those nurses. Now, they are pushing the blame on the cleaner (orderly). If they knew what they said was true, they could have brought the cleaner", Madam Suwaiba Abdul Mumin noted.
The missing body of Suwaiba's alleged stillborn baby has generated heated controversy at the hospital, with family and friends of the baby's mother suspecting the baby may has been stolen.
However, no such evidence has been uncovered.
Madam Suwaiba Abdul Mumin insists on having her baby, even if the baby is dead, so she can bury her according to Islamic traditions.
The hospital has been unable to produce the baby, a controversy that led to an attack on some doctors and nurses by persons said to be related to Suwaiba, and a subsequent withdrawal of services by doctors for about seven days.
The Ministry of Health intervened in the matter and issued a report after an investigation to be conducted into the case. The report cited two personnel, a doctor and a nurse, believed to have been negligent in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Officials at KATH, who were not impressed with the report by the Ministry, conducted their own independent investigation and issued a report to the Ministry.
