A high court at Ho on Monday placed an interim injunction on the holding of the Ho Central constituency primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). This followed an application by Mr William Asorgoe and Mr Yaw Agbeli, Constituency Executives of the party, concerning alleged disqualification of Mr Ben Eleblu who sought to contest the primaries. In an affidavit, the applicants cited Mr Kofi Attor, Director of International Relations of NDC, Mr Ludwig Hlodze, NDC deputy National Youth Organizer and Mr Asiedu Nketia, NDC General Secretary, as having commented that Mr Eleblu was disqualified following the vetting of him and Captain George Nfodjo (Rtd) the incumbent Member of Parliament. The applicants said Mr Eleblu's lawyers had written to the flag bearer of the party, Professor John Evans Atta Mills for thorough investigations into the matter before holding the primaries. The affidavit said while waiting for response from the flag bearer and the National Executive Council of the party, there was information that the NDC was going to conduct the primaries without investigating the matter. It indicated that Mr Eleblu was a fully paid member of the party contrary to allegations that he was disqualified because he was not a paid up member of the party. The applicants prayed the court to restrain Mr Nketia, the party's General-Secretary, Mr Winfred Agbemakplido, Ho Central Constituency Chairman and Captain Nfodjo (rtd) from holding the primaries until the matter was thoroughly investigated in the interest of the party.Source: GNA
