A leading member of the New Patriotic Party in the Nkawkaw constituency, Mr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah popularly known as Kofi Mire, is accusing the party’s national chairman, Peter Mac Manu of systematically destroying the party and vowed that the rank and file will not allow him to do so.
In an interview with Adom Kasiebo on Wednesday, Kofi Mire said Mac Manu has no legal or moral right to disqualify Mr. Seth Adjei Baah, alias Shaaba, one of the aspirants for the Nkawkaw NPP primary who has already been vetted and approved to contest in the party’s primaries.
Kofi Mire added that the incumbent MP, Okerchire Adusa should not be afraid to go for the primaries if indeed he has good records to show.
Drawing parallels, Kofi Mire stated that if the Minister of Finance Kwawdo Baah Wiredu was able to go through the primaries then why not Okerchire Adusah.
He cited an instance where someone who stood as an independent candidate in the Ashanti Region in 2004 was allowed to contest on the NPP’s ticket and eventually won the seat, as well as an NDC candidate for 2004 for Abetifi Constituency in the Eastern Region who has won the NPP primaries in Abetifi, asking what is wrong if Shaaba contests him for the Nkawkaw mandate.
