Former Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyeremanten says he will build a strong united and financially sustainable party, if elected as flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party.
Mr. Kyerematen also promised to work closely with party executive to put up a formidable team towards winning the 2016 presidential election.
The twice defeated presidential contender was addressing party executive in Accra Wednesday, when he picked the nomination forms to contest the NPP's presidential primaries.
"I have had the privilege and honour to serve our great party...if it's God's will that I become the next flagbearer, I will work with you to build a strong, united, stable and financially viable and stable party," said Alan 'Cash' as he is popularly called.
Alan becomes the seventh person to bid for the flagbearership race which is tentatively slated for December 6, 2014 at a yet to be determined venue.

Earlier, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr Joe Ghartey also picked his nomination forms ahead of the contest.
Other contestants are former Member of Parliament (MP) for Offinso North, Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku and MP for Assuogyaman, Mr Kofi Osei Ameyaw.
The rest are the 2008 and 2012 flagbearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; former Information Minister, Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng and the MP for Mampong, Mr Francis Addai Nimoh.
The aspirants paid Gh¢10,000 for picking the nomination forms, with the filing of the forms attracting a fee of Gh¢75,000.
Per the party's constitution not more than five candidates would be allowed to contest the presidential primaries.
In the event that more than five contestants pick up the forms, as it has happened, there will be an electoral college to whittle the number down to five.
The primaries have been tentatively scheduled for December 6.
