A woman, believed to be in her 60s, was knocked down by a 207 Benz bus at Adenta barrier, a suburb of Accra Thursday.
The accident, according to an eyewitness, occurred around 5:30 am when the woman was trying to cross the road.
The eyewitness, who gave his name as Nana, told Myjoyonline.com that the woman was knocked down shortly after her husband had seen her off to board a car to the hospital.
According to the eyewitness, her husband rushed to the scene after he heard shouts that a woman has been knocked down.
When Myjoyonline.com got to the scene, police personnel were preparing to convey the body to the morgue for autopsy.
Unfortunately, the driver sped off the scene after callously killing the woman, a policeman, who preferred to be called Chris, narrated to Myjoyonline.com.
Chris said the body will be deposited at the Police Hospital morgue while the police commence investigation into the accident.
