Supply of petroleum products from all major depots in the country has resumed. Fuel tankers are currently sending petroleum products to various retail outlets throughout the country.

Earlier today, the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah and the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, Mr. Moses Asaga visited depots in Tema to ascertain the present situation on availability of stocks at the various storage depots. At the time of their visit at 12.30pm, more than one million litres of petrol had been supplied to the market. It is expected that by close of business today, Saturday, June 28, 2014, a total of three million litres of petrol would have been delivered to retail stations, mainly in the Accra/Tema area. Deliveries will continue on Sunday through Monday and until products have been supplied to all retail outlets across the country.

The Authority wishes to assure the general public that measures are being put in place to ensure a total return of the situation to normalcy. The general public is advised to report any retail station suspected to be hoarding petroleum products to the Authority for appropriate sanctions to be imposed on the retail outlet and marketing company.
