The former first lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings has vehemently denied axing movie star Grace Omaboe from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
She has also denied sending soldiers to Omaboe’s residence to retrieve a car and other properties given her by the 31st December Womens Movement.
Grace Omaboe popularly known in the movie industry as Maame Dokunu, said at a New Patriotic Party rally in Sekondi Takoradi on Sunday that the hostile attitude by the former first lady forced her out of the NDC.
She claimed to have been victimized by the Rawlings’ after few disagreements leading to the confiscation of her car and other properties by soldiers on the orders of the former first lady.
The movie star denied being opportunistic, saying at the time she joined NDC she had four houses.
But Aide to the former first family Kofi Adams says Maame Dokunu is being economical with the truth.
In an interview with JOY News, Kofi Adams alleged that the NDC came to the rescue of Maame Dokunu when she claimed that her properties had been destroyed by a group of angry protestors under the infamous ‘kume preko’ demonstration.
He insisted that Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings had nothing to do with the departure of the movie star from the NDC.
