The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Agyepong has served notice that he would deal physically with Kofi Adams, aide to former President Rawlings for daring to repeat drug-dealing allegations against him.
“I want to see him physically and deal with him…I will deal with him personally before proceeding to court,” he threatened.
Mr. Kennedy Agyepong issued the threat on Tuesday when he engaged Kofi Adams in hot exchanges on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show”.
Mr. Agyepong said the false allegation being peddled around would “not stop me from making my money”, which he claimed was legitimately acquired.
Throwing light on how he makes his money, he said he spends only three out of 24 hours to sleep and uses the rest to “think” about the investment made all over the world and the 3000 workers he has in Ghana.
He warned against such allegations, which he said are capable of discouraging Ghanaians from acquiring genuine wealth.
He noted that he, Kennedy Agyepong, has nothing to hide from the public and would still go on with his normal businesses, should the National Democratic Congress (NDC) gain power.
He also cautioned Mr. Adams: “Nobody serves Rawlings and succeed in life.”
According to Kofi Adams, dealing in drug is a serious offence and that alone should have compelled Mr. Agyepong to have resorted to the law court to clear his name; if indeed, he is not dealing in drug.
He asserted that the drug allegations made by Ato Ahwoi, a leading member of the NDC, and Isaac Edumadzi, NPP MP for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam, are ample evidence to indicate that Mr. Agyepong is culpable of the offence.
Mr. Adams accused the NPP government of being less interested in drug issues and promised the NDC government would deal relentlessly with drug dealers.
“We are committed to go to the bottom of drug deals in this country under the presidency of Prof. Attah Mills, and people who have turned this country into a drug hub will be dealt with.”
