President John Agyekum Kufuor has stated that Dr Sam Ghartey Amoo is the substantive National Security Coordinator and he has no plans of replacing him.
President Kufuor said the Presidency was satisfied with Dr Amoo's performance and had at no point gone into "closed door" meetings to discuss his removal.
The President said this in a press release signed by Mr Andrew Awuni, Press Secretary to the President and Presidential Spokesperson.
"We wish to assure the nation that the security front is as solid and smooth as ever and more than capable of dealing with any adventurers if they ever rear their heads."
The statement said some people had in recent times and for obvious reasons, made the security agencies the targets of their propaganda by attacking the hierarchy of these agencies and trying to sow seeds of doubt in the minds of the men and women of the security agencies.
"Only last month they said that Major General Samuel Odotei, Chief of Army Staff, was to be removed and replaced by Major General Ayiku, a man who passed away more than a year ago. General Odotei is at post to this very day.
"This time round, they have shifted their attention to the National Security Co-ordinator, claiming that he too is to be removed. This also is clearly not true."
