The referee who failed to see Luis Suarez bite Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini will take charge of the World Cup semi-final between Brazil and Germany.
Marco Rodriguez was in charge when the Uruguayan striker sunk his teeth into the defender during their final group match on June 24.
The offence went unnoticed by the officials but Suarez was later banned for nine international matches and suspended from all football activity for four months.

Appointment: Marco Rodriguez missed Luis Suarez's bite on Giorgio Chiellini but will take charge of semi-final

Seeing red: Rodriguez sent off Italy's Claudio Marchisio in the same match
Rodriguez had earlier dismissed Italy midfielder Claudio Marchisio for a knee-high challenge. Uruguay beat Italy 1-0 to advance to the last 16 where – without Suarez – they lost 2-0 to Colombia.
Rodriquez also took charge of Belgium’s 2-1 win over Algeria in the group stage. The 40-year-old is at his third World Cup but Tuesday’s semi-final clash between the hosts and the Germans in Belo Horizonte represents the biggest match of his career.
