An alleged turf war between the President's Executive Secretary, Raymond Atuguba and Chief of Staff Prosper Bani may have triggered a highly anticipated shake-up at the presidency, the Daily Guide newspaper reports.
Internal wrangling between the two men at the top has had a ripple effect on staff who are said to have taken sides.
President John Mahama has alerted all his appointees, from the mighty to the minion, to brace themselves for "certain changes and/or re-assignments of portfolios in the Office of the President".
In letters signed by the President himself and given to the appointees including the Chief of Staff, Prosper Bani and other senior presidential advisers and aides, John Mahama thanked his team for its services rendered to his government and to Ghana.

Prosper Bani getting the President's attention
According to Daily Guide sources, a worried Dr. Atuguba told the President he wants to quit, forcing John Mahama to stamp his authority.
Some Ministers of State who spoke on strict condition of anonymity also confirmed serious cracks in the Cabinet with some Ministers being unhappy with the shabby treatment meted out to them in the recent reshuffle.
"My brother, some of us were not even told whether we were staying in Government or leaving. We all hear about these things from the media," a worried Minister of State told DAILY GUIDE.
The president is expected to announce changes anytime soon. Sources suggest that either Raymond Atuguba remains or Prosper Bani leaves.
