The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has indicated that they will patiently go through the court process in their legal battle with King Faisal after a petition to the Chief Justice to have an expeditious hearing on the case which has caused the delay start to the First Capital Plus Premier League was declined.
The Ghana FA wanted the case to be heard on a daily basis in order to resolve the case, so the league can start but with this new development, the FA will now have to pursue the case to its logical conclusion despite its time lagging effects.
"We will go through the motion while we also pass through the process of implementing a competition that will keep the teams active, that is the only option we have at this moment.
"The reason why we asked the Chief Justice [was] not only in the interest of the sponsor, but the other clubs who are unrelated to this matter,” said Ibrahim Saani Daara, spokesperson of the Ghana FA
“For instance Asante Kotoko or Hearts have no business in this matter but out of no fault of theirs they have been made to wait because of this case. It is only fair that we ask for justice to be expedited to ensure that they are not unduly affected by this.
“But be that as it may, the Chief Justice has decided we will go through the motion and get the competition underway.”
