Black Stars caretaker coach Maxwell Konadu has received the backing of Captain Asamoah Gyan to lead the team to qualify for next year’s AFCON tournament.
Maxwell Konadu has so far picked up four points in the qualifiers following the sacking of Coach Kwesi Appiah.
The Black Stars will play Uganda this Saturday in Kampala and a win for Ghana will ensure passage to the next AFCON tournament in January.
Asamoah Gyan, who will not be playing in the two games due to injury, says he has no doubt Maxwell Konadu can qualify the team.
“We have worked with Maxwell for some time now, he has been in the game also like Coach Kwasi Appiah, he understands how the game goes,” Gyan said.
“He has good relationship with the players and that is the most important thing, he has his tactics in the game and he has the experience to do well because he has coached one of the best teams in Ghana that is Kotoko so I believe he will do well.
“I like his personality as well”.
