Ghana Premier league side Inter Allies will not play in the CAF Confederation Cup next year after withdrawing from the CAF inter-club competition.
The Tema-based side by virtue of losing the 2013/2014 MTN FA Cup to league champions Asante Kotoko secured the ticket to play to in Africa for the first time.
But after carefully assessing their financial situation, they believe it will be prudent to forfeit going to Africa.
“It took a while to assess our financial situation and we realized that it will be extremely impossible to play in Africa with our limited resources,” said Delali Senaya CEO of Inter Allies
“We have reached out to our partners across Africa and Europe but the response from them was not encouraging and the funds we had planned to use for the competition also lost some value.
“So we just don’t have the resources to play in Africa.”
The MTN FA Cup Committee is likely to name Feyenoord Fetteh as Ghana’s representative for the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup.
