King Faisal’s application in court seeking a judicial review of a Ghana Football Association Appeals Committee ruling has been thrown out, leaving the federation with just one case to deal with to pave the way for the league to start.
A human rights court in Accra on Friday morning said King Faisal had an “incompetent application”.
The decision means the GFA is close to sealing the case that has delayed the start of the league while also settling the battle of who is the best legal football brains in the country.
This is the second case the relegated Ghana Premier League club have lost against the Football Association.
This leaves the last legal case by King Faisal against the GFA before the future of the league is known.
On Thursday, a first case against the Ghana Football Association contesting a Disciplinary Committee ruling was squashed.
The judge ruled that the Ghana FA is a private association and not a public body to have its disciplinary committee ruling reviewed.
King Faisal’s final case will be heard on 8 December.
The 2014/2015 Ghana Premier League has been delayed by the court case.
The case also looks to be settling the simmering debate about who is the best legal brain in Ghana football as Teddy Sory, the GFA’s lawyer has completed two successful ‘fights’ over Egbert Fabille.
