Ghana Premier League side, AshantiGold have rescinded an earlier decision and decided to represent the country in the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup.
The Obuasi-based side will replace Inter Allies who withdrew their participation citing the lack of cash.
They reached the semi-final of the 2013/2014 MTN FA Cup but forfeited their clash against eventual winners Asante Kotoko.
“The board had said they wouldn’t support financially but the stakeholders and national executives have assurances of getting corporate support old and as such the decision to management there is no money to finance the trip to Africa which is very expensive,” the club’s spokesperson Kofi Yawson confirmed
AshantiGold last played in the Africa in 2011 when they got eliminated by Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel in at the penultimate qualifying round in the Confederation Cup.
