Ghana and Evian Thonon Gillard defender Jonathan Mensah is confident Ghana will surely sail through the ‘Group of Death’ to the next stage of the competition in Equatorial Guinea.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group C along with West African rivals Senegal, South Africa and Algeria.
“I think this is a dicey group, we will do our best to qualify and go through the next stage and even progress to win the trophy” he told JOY Sports.
The injured stalwart defender missed his club’s side 2-1 win over SC Bastia on Wednesday and is hopeful to return by next week.
Meanwhile for the records South Africa has beaten Ghana in their last two meetings in the AFCON while Algeria’s recent squad is regarded as one of the best on the continent after recording a hundred percent qualifying record.
Senegal are also regarded as a force to reckon with after eliminating seven-time champions Egypt at home
