Ghana President John Dramani Mahama has told Hollywood filmmakers not to exaggerate Ghana's World Cup cash row in their yet to be released movie.
The cash controversy that disrupted Ghana's 2014 World Cup is set to be made into a film where someone like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson' saves the day by delivering money to the unhappy players in Brazil.
President Mahama in an interview with global television network Aljazeera noted that the filmmakers’ decision to turn the dispute into a movie is not misplaced but wants the thriller to depict the truth.
"The other day one of the film promoters was interviewed and he said yes they were going ahead with the film", said President Mahama
"I don't know whether there will be a role for me because I don't know the role I played in it all but I guess and hope that it will be as close to the truth as possible",
"Whatever commission report comes out I guess the Hollywood filmmakers will be interested in establishing the facts so that it helps as closely as possible the truth."
"Hollywood is about making things exciting and so there will be all that exaggerations and I'm sure they'll try to make it more interesting". He concluded.
H.E John Dramani Mahama was forced to send a plane containing $3m to Brasília for the players to share after a row over appearance fees threatened to see the team go on strike.
The Black Stars at one point refused to train due to lack of remuneration and went ahead to loss their final group match by 2-1 to Portugal and exited the competition.
