Some teachers in the Accra metropolis have kicked against government’s decision to ban extra classes.
They insist the measure is not in the best interest of students.
Education Minister Alex Tetteh-Enyo over the weekend announced that his ministry will begin issuing circulars that will make it illegal for both public and private schools to organize extra classes.
The new directive also prescribes punitive measures for teachers who refuse to comply.
