Although the report of the Dzamefe Commission of Enquiry is ready, a review of the recommendations will be done after Ghana’s participation at the African Nations Cup, the Sports Ministry has said.

The three-member commission led by Appeals Court Judge Justice Senyo Dzamefe completed its work in December 2014 with key recommendations on how to prevent the repetition of the debacle that accompanied Ghana's participation in the World Cup tournament in Brazil last year.

The Commission took four months to probe into issues leading to Ghana’s shameful exit from the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Evidence was gathered from officials of the Ghana FA and the Sports Ministry, some Black Stars players, travel and tour operators and other service providers, journalists and supporters groups.

The commission however went ahead to complete its report without hearing from AC Milan star Sulley Muntari – considered a key witness as his name popped up in virtually all issues related to the Black Stars at the World Cup.

The Commission has hinted the former Inter Milan man who has been suspended indefinitely from the Black Stars could face sanctions for snubbing their request.

With 15 days to the Black Stars' participation at the continental Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea, concerns have been raised about measures to prevent the events that characterised Ghana's disappointing performance at the World Cup.

But Youth and Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga told Joy News adequate measures have been put in place to ensure that Ghana’s participation in the AFCON is incident free.

"We are talking about making sure that financial arrangements should be made to ensure that they [Black Stars] travel there; are resourced while they are there; their remuneration and benefits et cetera have all been made ready", said Mr Ayariga.

Mr. Ayariga also indicated that the Black Stars players will receive their appearance fees and bonuses via cheques.

He said paying the stars in cheque instead of cash is aimed at avoiding the embarrassment Ghana suffered when three million dollars was airlifted to Brazil to pay the players as appearance fees and bonuses.
