Mr Ludwig Hlordze, a Presidential Staffer, has said a comprehensive National Youth Policy would be out by the end of this year.
Government hoped to finalize work on the Policy and begin its implementation by December.
Mr Hlodze said this on Saturday at a four-day youth jamboree organized by the Ho Diocese of the Catholic Youth Organization at Kpetoe in preparation of its 60 years Anniversary celebration in Wa later in the year.
He urged the youth to take advantage of educational and training opportunities available to them now in order to become productive instead of waiting for the policy.
Mr Hlodze said education is the key to greatness and advised young people to take advantage of educational opportunities being offered by the government so that they could impart positively on society.
Most Reverend Francis Kofi Anani Lodonu, Catholic Bishop of Ho, advised young people against laziness in school and at home.
He urged them to pick up good virtues and learn hard to become responsible citizens in future.
“Many of us and our leaders are blind because of laziness and need to repent from laziness and work hard,” the Bishop said.
The celebration was on the theme, “For God and Ghana-Thanks be to God.”
