The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested 127 suspects including 10 females as part of measures to rid the city of criminals.The police personnel, comprising 50 officers and 200 men, rounded the suspects up in Gbawe, Agbogbloshie, Sowutuom, Odorkor, Odorna, Neoplan Station and Dansoman and its surroundings.Some of the items seized during the swoop include dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a pistol, eight Ghanaian passports believed to have been snatched or stolen from their owners, machetes, knives, television sets, sound systems and a laptop.Superintendent of Police Aboagye Sarpong, Regional Operations Commander, led the exercise.The swoop follows recent exercises in other parts of the city that led to scores of arrests.The move is thought to be part of efforts to reduce the incidence of armed robbery in the city.
