Former Black Stars second goalkeeper Sammy Adjei has denied reports that he resigned from the national team after the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations on home soil. The 27-year-old explains that he wrote a letter to then technical team asking to two excused from two national team games and never stated his resignation.Adjei has joined local side Hearts of Oak on a short loan deal but he is yet to make his return debut. He believes his international future is far from over as clubs in Europe and Africa are chasing his signature."I only asked the technical team to exempt me from some games because I needed to sort out some issues with my club," Adjei told 90 minutes newspaper."Never did I say anywhere that I was resigning from the national team. This is not true and I want to set the records straight because I'm ready to serve the nation whenever I'm called upon."With the eight more years I have ahead of me before I hang my gloves, I believe I will be good enough to bring a World Cup medal to Ghana."This is my dream and I hope that I live up to it before I retire."Source: ghanasoccernet.com
