A 35-year-old man has been apprehended by the Asesewa Police in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern region for unlawfully firing gunshots at an NIA registration centre on Thursday morning, March 19, 2020.
Stephen Tetteh entered the registration centre at Obeyemi wielded a single barrel gun and ordered the NIA officials to halt the exercise while firing the shots.
Speaking to JoyNews' Eastern Regional correspondent, Maxwell Kudekor, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh at the Eastern Regional Police Command said the man will be arraigned before court on Friday, March 20, 2020.
The charges to be preferred against him are; being on the premises without lawful authority, possession of firearms without lawful excuse, and other charges.
The other charges include causing fear and panic. We hope to have him remanded and we’ll continue with our investigations,” he said.
