As of April 15, 2020, some 409 persons in the northern belt of the country had tested positive for Cerebrospinal Meningitis (CSM) out of which 40 have died and 258 of the reported cases coming from the Upper West region.
In this light, the Ghana Health Service has deployed members of the Rapid Response teams at the district and regional levels to the various health facilities and communities to undertake case search and support case management in the Northern parts of the country.
Also, there has been the provision for 7,500 vials of Ceftriaxone; the appropriate antibiotic for management of meningitis and funds to support their response.
