Veteran Gospel musician Mary Ghansah has said controversies should not be seen as an avenue to promote a musician's work in the name of showbiz.
Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, she said she finds it appalling when gospel artistes especially, attack each other so they could get attention from the media to help promote their works.
Mary Ghansah stated that “your gospel music can still thrive without you accusing somebody and using the person as a ladder so that FM stations will be calling you."
She told host Sammy Forson that, the attitude of using controversies have extended to young artistes adding that they could make any comment about each other’s music without any consultation or research.
However, Mary Ghansah believes that no one person can reign in the industry for long. Everyone, she added, has to do their bit in pushing the word of God.
The veteran artiste urged her colleagues to support themselves as well as promote their colleague's works instead of tearing each other down.
“To do God’s work is highly spiritual so the first thing we need to do is to be in connection with the one whose business we are doing…so as much as this is showbiz, it is about him not about us.”
