Gospel artiste Philipa Baafi says she will “pray about it” should a political party reach out to her to make a song on their behalf.
Speaking on the Red Carpet Show on Joy Prime Saturday about her newly released single ‘It is well’ the gospel singer said should any political party call upon her to use her song or for her service, she will have to take it to the Lord in prayer first before making a decision.
Her statement comes as no surprise to fans that have followed her music ministry for long.
During the 2008 general elections, Philipa Baafi sold her hit song ‘Go high’ to the ruling New Patriotic Party after she claimed God inspired her decision to do so.
“I was worshiping one day when God gave me the song. God told me an organization will buy the song and make it a hit,” she revealed in an interview on Adom TV in 2018.
Also on the show, Philipa Baafi who admitted she has had some fun times also spoke about some of her trying times in the music industry.
She recounted an episode where she had to endure the wrath of media trolls following a false story about her on social media.
“Around 2006 I went for a tour in Europe, and came back in May thereabout. In July, I had a call from one of the countries and they were telling me that they had heard that I was pregnant and was in Italy, meanwhile I wasn’t married then.
“It became a big issue in Europe. I had to clarify issues in an interview in Ghana where I was at the time. And since not everyone saw that interview, some still believed the rumours were true when they weren’t.”
But the musician said in her trying times, she looks to God for support to pull her through.
