The Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has intercepted about 42 kilograms of substances suspected to be cocaine, heroin and tramadol.
The drugs were intercepted around 8 am on Sunday at the Kpoglo border, near Aflao during routine operations by the joint officials of the Customs and Ghana Immigration Services.
However, the three suspects, believed to be Nigerians have absconded.
Speaking to Joy Business, the Commissioner of Customs, Col. Kwadjo Damoah said such an operation is important especially in these times of the coronavirus pandemic.

"We need such operations because even though the borders are closed, cargo is allowed to enter through the various borders so we have to be vigilant to ensure that the goods coming in are not smuggled goods" he noted.
The joint operation involved men from the National security, Ghana Immigration Services and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
Among some of the substances found includes, 225mg Tramadol tablets, three cans labelled "praise palm cream" but contain substances suspected to be heroin and some other 51 parcels wrapped in transparent polythene bag.
The items also includes a cash sum of $200,000, Nigerian passports and complimentary cards.
