Joana Gyan Foundation has climaxed its five-day mission to Wassa Agona Amenfi in the Western North Region, with a free medical screening for the aged in the District.
On Sunday, it collaborated with some health practitioners to ensure that the aged in the Wassa Agona Amenfi township remain healthy.
This forms part of the Foundation’s cooperate social responsibilities and its focus on improving health care and also provide special care for the aged.

According to the secretary of the Foundation, Naana Lexis Opoku - Agyemang, the CEO and founder of the NGO, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, prioritise the health of the aged in the community as well as the health of people of all ages in the community.
“We are doing it for free, it is for all the elderly people in the Wassa Agona Amenfi District. This is part of the organization’s core focus for development,” she said.
The exercise was patronised by old men and women in the vicinity trooping to the screening centre with a recorded attendance of over 70%.
The beneficiaries were screened of various indicators like; Diabetes, Hepatitis B, blood sugar, ECG which checks the work rate of the heart, blood pressure, eye screening, among other diseases.

They were also advised some were referred to Hospitals for further treatment.
The Foundation after the health screening also donated food items to the populaces of the locality.
The CEO and Founder of the Foundation, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, was recently crowned the Development queen mother of Wassa Agona Amenfi. Her stool name is Nana Hemaa Adwoa Awo I.
