The Ashanti Regional Directorate of Education is constituting a committee to investigate the circumstance surrounding the death of a student at the KNUST Senior High School.
The Ashanti Regional Director, Mrs. Mary Owusu Achiaw, says the committee will have two weeks to submit its report.
"I'm here to meet the Committee of Heads of Assisted Senior High Schools and the Oforikrom Municipal Education Director to decide on the composition of the committee to investigate the matter," she told Luv Fm’s Erastus Asare Donkor.
A business student at the KNUST Senior High School reportedly died on campus after teachers neglected him for fear of the Covid-19 pandemic after he complained of feeling pains in his stomach.
Although agitations within the student body that sparked on campus after the incidence has been calmed, the headmistress of the institution has been interdicted.
While she is away, the Regional Directorate of Education has been asked to step in as head for the institution.
The committee is expected to investigate the matter and submit a report at the end of two weeks.
