A 40-year-old man has been lynched in Nyankpala in the Northern Region for stealing goats and sheep.
On the spot investigations by the police revealed that the deceased, Fatawu Alhassan and two others were caught stealing some goats and sheep. The two accomplices managed to escape while the deceased was caught in the process, attacked and killed by unknown persons.
The Police added that an Opel Astra with registration number GE 8663-Y in close proximity to the scene suffered some damages in the process of the lynching.
The incident is said to have been reported to the police by the head of security of the Savanna Agriculture Research Institute.
The body of the deceased has since been photographed and deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
