All seven accused persons, including the self-styled traditional priestess, Sirina Mohammed who allegedly played a role in the murder of 90-year-old Akua Denteh will be in court today.
This is the second hearing of the case since the arrests were made.
The accused persons, five men, and two women were arrested separately by the Savannah Regional Police command from their various hideouts and were arraigned before the Bole Magistrate Court.
The seven who were all charged with murder pleaded not guilty to the charge and were remanded into police custody to reappear today.
On July 23, there was massive outrage on social media when a video showing Akua Denteh being slapped, kicked and caned after the traditional priestess accused her of being a witch, popped up online.
The severe beating the woman was subjected to by her accuser and two other women resulted in her death.
There were subsequent calls from civil society groups and individuals on the security service to fish out the culprits who went into hiding after the act.
The police in the Savannah Region initially arrested the Chief of Kafaba, Zackaria Yahaya, for his alleged role in the gruesome murder on July 28 and was granted bail.
