Burna Boy’s 'Twice As Tall' has made its debut on the Billboard World Album Chart at number one.
The album beat Beyonce’s 'The Loin King: The Gift' album which resurfaced after the release of her visual album to top the chart.
Twice As Tall was released on August 14 to critical success. The 15 track album recorded five million streams an hour after it was released.
Like his Grammy-nominated African Giant Album, Twice As Tall also makes references to colonialism, racism and how the African society can survive without being taken advantage of any more.
The album features Chris Martin (‘Monsters You Made’), Stormzy (‘Real Life’), Youssou N’Dour (‘Level Up/Twice As Tall’) and Naughty by Nature among many others.
The album also includes contributions from Nigeria’s Spaceship Collective, Mike Dean, Timbaland and others.
Two songs from the album, Real Life featuring Stormzy and Number 23 are at number one and two on the UK Official Afrobeat chart.
