A loyal supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Joseph Ntim "Oluwa NPP" has denounced his support to the party as he joins the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Joseph Ntim who dressed in a Rambo-style attire strapped with a toy machine gun in the colours of the NPP in the 2016 campaign says he has had enough of the governing party.
His most remembered creation is a coffin dripped in NDC paraphernalia which he dragged behind him to mock the party in 2016.
Speaking to JoyNews, Mr Ntim said his defection is as a result of unfulfilled promises of employment creation by the Akufo-Addo-led administration.
He said, "Due to the unemployment situation in the country, several individuals have resulted in social vices such as armed robbery. Taking care of families without employment has become difficult."
Mr Ntim now refuses to be associated with the NPP and prefers to be called Oluwa NDC.
He said he will support flag bearer of the NDC, John Mahama because he has been disappointed by the NPP government.
"Nana Addo has disappointed us that is why we want him out of government," he said.
The Regional Organiser of the NDC in the Ashanti Region, Isham Alhassan said he was excited Joseph Ntim has finally seen the light.
"We are welcoming everyone to join the National Democratic Congress in the Ashanti Region to show the NPP government the exit," he said.
Though it is a loss to the party, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NPP, Samuel Pyne said the party respects his decision because it is his right.
However, Mr Pyne said he would consult Joseph Ntim to find out his real motive for switching sides.
