His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo on his two-day tour in the Upper West Region stated that his 2016 campaign promises and the poor governance of the Mahama-led administration resulted in his victory in the 2016 General Elections.
The President on his tour in the Upper West Region, visited the Regional House of Chiefs and Queen Mothers.
"In 2016 I came with a bucket full of promises with things that I intended to do. And I believe that it was the people accepting those promises and also being affected by the poor governance of the then Mahama administration that got the people to vote for me."
He, however, said this year's election would be different as he cannot win the hearts of Ghanaians with mere promises.
"This year, the situation is different. I have had almost 4 years and therefore I cannot just go on promises."
In his address, he emphasized that his track record as president would guarantee his victory; listing a number of projects his administration has undertaken to ensure the growth of the country.
"There 2,163 projects being executed in the [Upper West] Region with 1,299 projects completed. And the remaining 864 are on-going.
"Out of the 1,299 completed projects, 112 are in the educational sector, 48 in the health sector, 31 in the road sector and 256 in the water and sanitation sector.
He asked for the support of people of the Region in the December polls in view of his honesty, integrity and the fulfilment of promises made during his tenure of office.
