Former President John Dramani Mahama says the next NDC government under his leadership will ensure a very competitive and relevant education system in the country.
Mr Mahama added that his next administration will provide more infrastructure and will also motivate teachers as a way of making the Free SHS policy very attractive.
"The NDC remains committed to the provision of globally competitive and relevant education.
"That is why we will provide more infrastructure and motivate our teachers to make the Free SHS better," he said in a facebook post.
He further assured that the next NDC Government will absorb 50% of fees for all tertiary students for the next academic year.
He also reiterated the NDC's commitment to improving Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the country and further noted that his next government will repeal the Public Universities Bill, should the ruling government proceed to enact it.
"We will complete the conversion of all polytechnics into Technical Universities and ensure that public universities maintain their autonomy by repealing the Public Universities Bill should this government go ahead to enact it.
