The 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club in Kumasi has elected new executives to steer its affairs.
The new executives who have a two-year renewable mandate is led by Bejamin Brayie Adusei as President and Robert Tetteh as Vice.
Other executives include Dr. Doreen Boakye-Mensah, Prince Agyemang and Kweku Amankwah.
The new team takes over from the Samuel Ampadu Kyei-led administration under whose leadership the Club scored high points, especially in attracting sponsorship for tournaments.
Benjamin Brayie and his team have the task of lifting the image of the sport in the region, following the impact of Covid-19 on sporting activities.
In his inaugural speech, Mr Brayie Adusie emphasised the need for cooperation among members in achieving set targets.
“I have the full confidence that all of us are willing and together do our best by cooperating and if nothing is neglected, if the best arrangements and practices are made as they are been made, we shall prove ourselves once again that we are able to uphold and take this great club to even higher heights. We must choose hope over fear and unity of purpose over conflict and discord,” he said.
The newly-elected President outlined the immediate plans to improve the sport.
“We shall ensure that our court is renovated, our club house gets a facelift, our kitchen and toilet facilities get renovated to meet modern standards and members pay dues on time,” he stated.
