Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu says the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Techiman South, Christopher Baasongti was been robbed of his seat which he contested in the just-ended elections.
In his view, the declaration of the seat by the Electoral Commission(EC) in favour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is fraudulent, hence, the party will not allow it to stand.
"Christopher of the NDC won Techiman South seat lets anybody including the media demand a public transparent collation and aggregation of the results of Techiman constituency, polling station by polling station and a certified results even by the NPP and you would know the eventual winner of the Techiman South," he told JoyNews' Joseph Opoku Gakpo.
Techiman South became the centre for controversy after confusion erupted when supporters of the NDC prevented the presiding officer from declaring the NPP parliamentary candidate, Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah the winner.
A verdict the NDC has rejected and intends to overturn.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South, however, called on the EC to openly collate the results of Techiman South satisfactorily in accordance with the laws of Ghana.
He further threatened that, until Techiman South Parliamentary results are re-collated, his side of the House will not participate in the inauguration exercise on January 7.
Mr Iddrisu challenged the EC to release the parliamentary results of Techiman South constituency.
“If Techiman South results are not resolved amicably and satisfactorily in accordance with the laws of Ghana and in particular with regulation 43 of CI 127 by the EC. We will make it conditional even to the swearing-in which will take place on January 7 because that one gives us the majority in Parliament that we need," he stated.
