An Italian was in the early hours of last Thursday killed by a gang of armed men who raided a house at Tema Community “2”.
The name of the Italian is still unknown but sources say he worked with Definone, an Italian construction company.
Residents at Tema Community “2” told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the armed robbers, who wielded guns and cutlasses, invaded the house where some Italians live and robbed them of their personal belongings including lap tops and cash.
They said as the robbers were leaving, one of them saw the deceased holding a camera taking pictures. The robber then called the other colleagues, who returned to the house and shot the Italian in the stomach killing him instantly.
The residents said after, the robbers proceeded to three other houses at Tema Community “12” and a gas station where they robbed them of their personal effects and an undisclosed cash amount.
Residents of the two communities are now living in fear.
Meanwhile the Tema Police Command is investigating the incident.
