Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has announced its decision to suspend its shuttle services in the institution indefinitely.

According to a statement signed by the University’s Relations Officer, Dr Daniel Norris Bekoe, the decision comes on the back of a total disregard of the Covid-19 safety protocols by students who use the shuttle system.

He explained that although the new directive may affect some students commuting to and from lectures, it is necessary “in order to protect students from getting infected with the virus.”

However, all students from the College of Health and Allied Sciences who attend lectures at the Boadi new site among other students on various hostels off-campus are excluded from the new directive.

Dr Bekoe also cautioned that should the exempted students flout the safety protocols, “it will not hesitate to shut down the bus services to students who ply the above routes.”

“All students and staff are encouraged to continuously adhere to the Covid-19 protocols outlined by the University at all times.”
