The Tema Regional Police Commander, DCOP Barima Tweneboah Sasraku II, has called on all parties involved in the Ada Songor clash to exercise restrain.
According to him, the Police Command team has begun work to ensure peace in the area, however, it behoves the members of the community to do their part as well.
He made this comment when he met with some key stakeholders in the Ada Songor Lagoon Basin clash, following weeks of agitations and bloody attacks.
The meeting comes on the back of a clash which led to some natives of Toflokpo - Salom who are against Electrochem Ghana Limited's take over of the Ada Salt Basin.
The clash led to some 14 persons sustaining gunshots wounds in their attempt to prevent the ongoing surveying works by workers of the company in the area.

DCOP Sasraku II, who was in the company of his Deputy Commander and other Senior Police Officers of the Command, first visited the Ada Traditional Council to have first-hand information on their position on the matter.
The Paramount Chief of Ada, Nene Abram Kabu Akuaku III, who spoke through his Secretary, said they are fully in support of the project, urging the Police to deal not only ruthlessly but also thoroughly with persons causing trouble in the area through their objection to the agreement.

He also called on the Command to support the District with more personnel to deal decisively with the prevalent rising cases of crime in the area.
The police commander assured them of his readiness to support the Council in finding a lasting solution to the problem at hand.
He also held a separate closed-door meeting with the Ada East and Ada West District Chief Executives - Sarah Dugbaki Pobee and Adzoteye Lawer Akrofi respectively - at their respective offices, to also speak on Security matters.

He later paid a visit to the offices of Electrochem Ghana Limited, the Company headed by the CEO of McDan Group of Companies.
In his visit, Daniel Mckorley, expressed his utmost disappointment in the sudden opposition by some groups to the project.
The project, according to him, the area stands to gain enormous benefits in terms of both financial and developmental facelift.
The Tema Regional Police Commander in his address to the media expressed his optimism of finding a lasting solution to the issues.
He, therefore, called on all parties to refrain from any further attacks or agitations against each other.
