Ghana have secured a ticket in the last four of the ongoing Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania following a 4-2 shootout triumph over Cameroon on Thursday evening.
The quarter-final fixture ended 1-1 after regulation time after Frank Boateng scored for Black Satellites to cancel out Milla Prince's goal for Cameroon in the first-half of extra-time.
Boateng's goal forced the match into penalties where Ghana ruled supreme thanks to goalkeeper Ibrahim Danland.
During regulation time, Karim Zito's side struggled to really test the opposition goalkeeper.
They were forced to shoot from distance as their long ball tactic proved futile.
Cameroon were not asserting themselves either. The Indomitable Lions could not pose many questions in the first half.
But, in the second half, they got close to an opener. Fortunately, the Black Satellites defenders reacted well to clear a goal bound shot from the line.
The game ended 0-0 after 90 minutes which forced both teams to go into extra time.
In the 103rd minute, a perfectly delivered corner was met by Milla's head which led to the first goal of the game for Cameroon.
Moments later, a knockdown from Barnie found Frank Boateng who made no mistake with his finish.
Despite pushing forward for the decider, the two teams had to settle for penalties.
Ghana were perfect from 12 yards with their first four takers converting with confidence.
Cameroon, however did not find much luck from the spot. One miss and an Ibrahim Danlad stop prematurely ended their stay in Mauritinia.
Ghana will face the winner of other quarter-final clash between Gambia and Central Africa Republic.
