President Akufo-Addo is expected to present his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) to the 8th Parliament of the 4th Republic today, March 9.
According to Presidential correspondent Elton Brobbey, following the judgment of the Supreme Court on the election petition case filed by former President John Mahama, the call for national unity will feature prominently in the SONA.
Also, the President will be presenting to a House that has equal strength on each side, therefore, a call to work beyond political differences on the floor will find an expression in the speech.
Moreover, the coronavirus pandemic, its impact on the economy the government vaccination roll out plan and the road to full recovery is said to feature as well.
The presentation will not be done in the chamber as has been the norm.
Director of Public Affairs at Parliament, Kate Addo explained the measure has become necessary as they adhere to Covid-19 protocols in Parliament.
Already, Parliament has announced the President Akufo-Addo will deliver his address at 1pm today.
