Management of Linda Dor has given the assurance that matters regarding public safety within its space are under control.
This comes after the facility's Rest Stop at Bunso Junction off the Accra-Kumasi highway is reported to have seen an incident of theft when passengers aboard a VIP bus had their items stolen.
The travellers revealed that they alighted from a bus with registration number AC 1403-20 to visit the washroom, but unfortunately returned to the bus in a few minutes only to realise that their belongings had been bolted with.
According to reports, the bus being driven by one Emmanuel Owusu who was travelling from Accra to Yendi when the incident occurred.
But in a statement sighted by JoyNews Tuesday, the management indicated its preliminary investigations suggests that "the suspect on board the bus from Accra and alighted after the theft and bolted away. Therefore, it is not accurate that the suspect was lurking on the premises of the highway rest stop."
It further intimated that the strategies by these opportunistic criminals have been detected and as such it has intensified security at its premises.
"At the moment, our priority is to take appropriate interventions to beef up our security controls already in place thereby increasing police presence at the Linda Dor Police Post and on the Accra-Kumasi highway," the releases signed by Group Head, Emmanuel Oduro-Boakye read.
Meanwhile, the management apologised for the harm caused adding that "Management is collaborating with the police for further investigation leading to the arrest of the suspect."
