Deputy Finance Minister-designate, John Ampontuah Kumah says he will resolve the communication challenge that exists between the Finance Ministry and the general public if approved by Parliament.

Speaking to Joy FM, Mr John Kumah indicated that his experience as a communicator and a lawyer would enable him to bridge the gap that exists between the two parties.

He is part of deputy ministerial nominees President Akufo-Addo sent to the office of Speaker Alban Bagbin on Wednesday to be vetted and approved by Parliament to assist him in his second administration.

"What I will bring on board is to obviously help energise the already hard-working team that we have there in the Ken Ofori Atta's team we have at the Finance Ministry.

"I will also come along with ideas and you know my background as a communicator - the Finance Ministry does a lot of work and most of it is usually not well communicated to the public.

"So maybe with my background as a lawyer and a communicator, I would be able to help in communicating the many achievements of the Finance Ministry to the public," he told Emefa Apawu on Joy FM's Midday News.

The nominee said his goal for the next four years would be to execute the vision of President Akufo-Addo that is to see Ghana Beyond Aid.

He, therefore, used the opportunity to thank the President for the honour and confidence reposed in him to contribute his quota to national development through the Finance Ministry.

"I want to thank President Akufo-Addo for the opportunity given to me again to serve in his government and to serve this country," he said.

Also, he commended his predecessor, Mr Kwaku Kwarteng for a good job done during his stay at the Finance Ministry stating that "he has done so well and paid his dues to the country."

During the first administration of President Akufo-Addo, Mr John Ampontuah Kumah was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship Training and Innovation Programme.

Mr John Kumah also serves on Parliament's Appointment Committee chaired by first deputy Speaker Joseph Osei Owusu.
