The Northern Regional Police Command is keen to apprehend a rapist at Safam, a community near Diare in the Savelugu Municipality, after his victim, Ayisha Fuseini passed on due to health complications.
According to Crime Officer, Superintendent Bernard Baba Ananga, after taking over the case from the Savelegu Police, his team, has put in place measures to ensure the culprit is arrested since the issue has escalated to murder.
The 18-year-old, Ayisha Fuseini was pronounced dead, Wednesday, June 9, at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.
The victim was first admitted at Savelugu Hospital where she reported her defilement to the police.
She made her statement to the Police at the hospital on Sunday, May 30.
Few hours after being discharged, her health condition worsened and was transferred to the Tamale Teaching Hospital. But steps to keep her health condition stable were unsucceful.
Meanwhile, her mortal remains has been deposited at the morgue pending an autopsy.
