Security Expert, Adam Bonaa has opined that flowery speeches would not solve the current level of insecurity that Ghanaians are exposed to.
"You don’t fight organised crimes, using flowery speeches. Let us see more action and lets not limit it to just finding the perpetrators, who killed the police officer," he said.
His comment comes after the Inspector General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh promised to leave no stone unturned in apprehending perpetrators of the recent robbery incident which led to the death of one police officer and a hawker at Adedenkpo, near James Town.
Reacting to the IGP's statement on JoyNews' PM Express Wednesday, the security analyst, told host, Evans Mensah, "it is about time the security agencies, particularly, the Ghana Police Service admits it lacks the requisite resources to combat crimes in the country.
According to him, the Service needs to be revamped and furnished with the needed logistics, as a matter of urgency, to enable it deal with insecurity in the country.
Mr Bonaa holds the view that the gunmen who are terrorising citizens in various parts of the country, could be a gang, adding that "so far as I am concerned maybe, the CCTV’s could have helped."
"Maybe, if it was other jurisdictions am sure in less than 30 minutes it will be everywhere we are looking for so and so and you can believe our media and social media to throw it everywhere." he indicated.
