The Weija Police have arrested a suspect after five months of intensive search for the murderer of one Nii Armah Tagoe at Obakrowa, a suburb of Accra.
The suspect, Joshua Quashie, 26, allegedly fled the scene after killing the 29-year-old victim in February this year.
The deceased, Nii Armah was a driver residing at Ayikai Dobro whiles the suspect is a mechanic residing at Obakrowa.
According to reports, on February 5, the deceased's motorbike was seized by some youth, including the suspect, at a construction site in Obakrowa.
Two days later, one of the youths called Kudus, asked the deceased to come for his motorbike at a location in Obakrowa.
The deceased was accompanied by his friends. When they arrived at the venue, an argument ensued between the deceased and the youth.
The suspect went for a Single Barrel shot gun, pursued the deceased and shot him in the chest, killing him instantly.
Joshua Quashie, after the act, went into hiding until he was arrested on June 13 from his hideout at Obakrowa.
The murder weapon has been retrieved and the suspect was put before the Weija Magistrate court, presided over by Her Worship Ruby Ntire Opoku, on June 17.
Joshua Quashie was remanded into police custody and will re-appear on July 12.
