Ace gospel musician Nii Okai says musicians are one of the most misunderstood people on earth.
“Creative people are typically not very straight and formal," he told Fifi Folson on Up-Close, a new personality-focused segment on Joy FM's 'The Reason is Jesus'.
According to the “Mo ko Be” hitmaker, musicians are sometimes really misunderstood because “they see things in circles, squares, and not in straight lines.”
“Being one, I felt the call strongly to Minister to such people because most of the things you see them do are a reaction to how they are viewed, perceived and treated”, he said.
Nii Okai admits that there are real challenges in the creative space, “especially with money, women, fame and all sorts of things.”
The singer recounted dealing with gifted people and the challenges they go through, stating he "reminds such person that the gift came from God and so they should not yield to pressure.”
The renowned gospel act said, “it behoves on those who are matured to help the young artistes understand that it is okay to remain pure”.
