A suspected thief, identified as Lopez, has cut off four fingers of the owner of a mobile phone he allegedly stole at Koraso in the Berekum West District of the Bono Region.
The victim, Idrisu Razak, narrating the incident said he gave his phone to his friend to charge for him and left for the farm.
According to him, on his return, his friend told him that one Lopez has stolen the phone, but, he had left the matter after a few confrontations.

Idrisu said three days later while he was heading to town for his motorcycle, he came across the suspect who cut off the four fingers of his right hand with a cutlass when he confronted him.
He added that Lopez quickly absconded after committing the act.
Speaking to Adom News, younger brother to the victim, Ishmael Razak also alleged that the suspect had attacked several others in the community.
He added that crime is on the rise at Koraso and needs urgent attention.
Meanwhile, the Police say, the matter is being investigated and urged the public to assist them with any information on the suspect, Lopez who is on the run.
